The reason behind starting this Trust

Shreemathi Thangamma Aiyangar and her children created the Trust "V S Aiyangar Memorial Charitable Trust" in memory of Advocate Sri V S Aiyangar who attained the divine feet of the Almighty on December 4th,1976. This trust was created on Dec/31/1999 to provide aid to specially enabled children and the organizations that were looking after these children.

Shreemathi Thangamma Aiyangar attained the divine feet of the Almighty on April 29th, 2013, In her memory, her children created a scholarship to help needy and deserving girl students in Kollegal region pursuing their educational dreams.

During the Centenary celebration of Thangamma Aiyangar's life in 2017, her children and relatives created eight more scholarships in memory of the loved ones in the family.

The Trust is keen to enlarge the scope of scholarship to help more number of needy students to achieve their dreams as part of building New India.

Below are the scholarships offered by this Trust:

1. Smt Thangamma Aiyangar Memorial Scholarship – created on April/29/ 2013 for eligible girls who are interested in pursuing professional education.

2. Sri Sriram Jabali Memorial Scholarship instituted by Veteran Gp Capt J Chandra Seskhar for Continued support scholarship for one student in 2nd, 3rd and 4th Year of Medical / Engineering course to the previous years awardee of above scholarship.

3. Sri Venkata Krishna Iyengar Memorial Scholarship created on July/12/2017, for eligible girl students who scored the highest marks in SVK Girls Junior College, Kollegal in first year PUC exam.

4. Smt Nanjangud Thirumalamba Memorial Scholarship created on July/12/2017, for eligible students who scored the highest marks in Kannada in Kollegal region in 2nd year PUC Exam.

5. Sri Vrittamani Ramakrishna Memorial Scholarship created on Jul/12/2017, for eligible students who scored the highest marks in commerce section of 2nd PUC exam in Kollegal region.

6. Smt Ahalya Garudachar Scholarship created on July/12/2017, for eligible girl students who scored the highest marks in 2nd year PUC in Arts Division.

7. Smt Neelu Bai Naik Memorial Scholarship created on July/12/2017, for eligible students who scored the highest marks in English in 2nd year PUC Exam in Kollegal region.

8. Sri Vijay Bhagavan Memorial Scholarship created on July/12/2017, for eligible students who scored the highest marks in economics Subject in 2nd year PUC Exam in Kollegal Region.

9. Kumari Kavita Bhagavan Memorial Scholarship for eligible students who scored the highest marks in SSLC Exam in SVK Girls High School, Kollegal.
