DAKSHAYANI
My name is Dakshayini P, daughter of Puttaswamy and sundramma . We live in town called Kollegal. My father used to prepare bakery items like khara mixtures and supply it to the bakeries in and around kollegal. My mother is a housewife. I have a sibling and he is pursuing his degree in kollegal.
I have completed my primary education in Govt. Town School kollegal. Then I joined Govt. SVK girls college for higher primary and college studies. I got 93.6% in SSLC . Up to 10th standard I was studying in kannada medium then I took P CMB , at that time I was facing a lot of difficulties and with a lot of efforts and with the help of the college lecturers I was able to overcome from those difficulties and I was able to score 91.1% in 2nd PUC board exam.
After the college I had a big question of What to do next ? because I wish to do Engineering but my parents were not capable of supporting it. They asked me to join some degree courses. But still I gave CET and got good rank too. But even after getting good rank, my parents do not want me to join engineering because they cannot afford it.
During this situation I came to know about one very helpful thing that is the MGSV old students trust and Thangamma Memorial Scholarship. The trusties of these two trust visited our college and gave the introduction about what the scholarship is, who all are eligible and other information.
When I came to know about these scholarship I got hope that I can still go for engineering. Then I applied and got selected for the scholarship. They arranged a function at SVK and MGSV colleges and issued the check of 25000/- as Thangamma Memorial Scholarship and 10000/- from MGSV trust .Along with it one among the trusties Mr. Murthy sir decided to give 2000/- per month for the payment of PG accommodation in Bangalore.
I got admission in Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Computer Science branch at Bangalore. Because of the help and support from the trust I was able to join Engineering. Scholarship was given every year of my Engineering. I think I was in second year one among the trusties Mr. Govindaraju sir invited me to attend his family function. When I entered the function hall I was wondered because I was not a stranger there, sir introduced me to everyone in the function as a student who got Thangamma Memorial Scholarship . They treated me like a VIP .That day I felt like I was blessed to meet these people .
Well, everything is fine so far when I entered 3rd year of engineering, my father’s left hand got paralysed and he was not able to do any work .Family maintenance became harder and they even cannot able to give money for my basic needs. Then I shared this with the trusties, they filled hopes in me and encouraged me to face the problem and they helped me by giving extra amount every month along with the regular scholarship. I am grateful to them. unlike other trusts which give scholarship for students by arranging some function and forget the students, these trusts are unique because they ask students each and everything like their progress, family problems etc and they try to help the student to come over from those.
The result of this kind of support is, I was top 2 in the CSE branch in the college and I have also secured 1st rank in the university in 6th semester. Now I got placed in a good company with good package.
Number of students were benefitted from them just like me. Behalf of all the students I whole heartily thank them and request them to continue it. Because number of student’s dreams will become true just like mine.
Thank You
RACHNA
I am Ms.Rachana.M , 1st year student of Gadag institute of medical sciences,Gadag.
It is a govt medical college to which I have got admitted through CET- 2016.
My family has a poor financial background.Other than commission obtained from insurance we don’t have any other source of income. That is why we were trying to apply for scholarships as I got good score in PUC (95%) .
One day my father got a brochure of the trust which had information about the scholarship programme when I was in 1st PUC. And I applied as soon as I got 2nd PU results.
During the whole year I have secured 65% of marks in each subject in all 3 internals conducted by our college.
I believe this satisfactory performance was because of financial support of this trust which helped me to buy own books to refer.
I didn’t face much of the problem in getting admitted to the college because the scholarship amount was helpful for paying admission fees of KEA.
As I am residing in the hostel which is within the campus, I would be blessed to have scholarship which would help me paying hostel fees and mess bills.
From next year we are going to attend clinical postings along with the subjects. I want to score well in the exams and start my preparations for PG entrance accordingly.
My ambition is to get seat in surgery and I want to work hard to reach my goal.
I thank the trust for immense blessings and financial support, specially Govindrajan sir and Dr.Srinivas murthy sir for their support and encouragement.
Welcome. Check out how the students in need of financial assistance are being helped.
